Ok, so I just made the raspberry filling from the recipe section from Merrisa. Can anyone tell me how far this will go? I am filling a 12" cake and torting 3 times. I don't have a clue how much to make. And one batch seems like it may not make enough.

I thought I had a forum saved with a chart telling me how many cups of filling for a certain size of cake. But I just can not find it.

Thanks
Janice

ok, how about just a general amount that you might use for a filling... fruit or anything? Any idea how much you would use for a 12" cake?

Are you torting it? How many cups did the recipe make? You don't need tons of filling especially a filling like raspberry puree.. I'm assuming this is what it is. Maybe post a link to the recipe?

Here is the link

http://forum.cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-2503-Raspberry-Filling.html

and the recipe stated that it make 3.5 cups. I made it but I did not measure it. I did however fit it into a marg tub to store in the fridge though. so what is that about 900 or so?I will have DH check for me
as I am at work now.

Yes I am torting. 12" cake 3 times. so four layers cake and 3 layers of filling

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think you would need much more than 1-2 cups depending on how thick you spread the filling.

Oh that will be plenty of filling.. you will have leftovers. Don't put it much thicker than 1/8 - 3/16 of an inch.
