O.K. I'm new to cake decorating & I am loving it.....I just made my first 2 tier wedding style cake for a birthday. My question is once you get the Sugarshack buttercream on do you let it crust? if so, how long?? Also,
when I was piping balls around the cake, I noticed holes in the icing?? What did I do wrong??? Thanks for your help--Gina

hello and yes! You let it crust but for me by the time I get the cake iced it is ready for the VIva. no more than 5- 10 minutes.

Sometimes icing in a bag will get spongy or airy , so you just hand mix a small bowl of the icing, add a few drops of water till it is smooth, and pipe with that.

Sharon,

I just saw your video on youtube.....thanks so much for responding to my questions.....I admire your work & plan to purchase some of your videos soon. You do beautiful cakes!!! I just finished a cake decorating course & I'm experimenting with some of these techniques for family birthdays.
I hope my cakes look as good as yours one day!!--Gina
