Hi, I am new to this site, and I don't know anything about making cakes well at least making them look pretty. Are there any local bakers in the kansas city , mo area that would have any suggestions on a Luau cake for my 2 year old's birthday?? I have looked at the local grocery store bakery's and haven yet to see anything nice. Thanks icon_smile.gif

Hi,
welcome to the site. I am fairly new here too. If you click on galleries you can do an image search on the word luau or tropical, hawaiian etc. Up will pop a ton of great cakes and loads of inspiration. HTH.

depends on how many you are serving. we had a small luau and just did the barbie cake and changed dress to grass skirt. i am in kc north an noticed my hyvee had a luau cake with a tiki hut and other stuff displayed for their speciality cakes. i have been trying to figure how to get pic for my luau next year.
