Should I Buy A 14" Or 16" Silver Ake Plateau??

Most of the wedding cakes I book are with a base of 14" and I need to buy both a round and a square. Should I buy the 14" so it's the same size as the base cake or is it supposed to be a bit larger than the base cake? Thanks a bunch!!!
