Wow. My husband was born and raised in Montana (Missoula/Lincoln) and moved to Grass Valey when he was 12. His parents still live there. We lived there for a year before he want into the Navy after we were married. LOVE LOVE LOVE it up there!!! I so miss the Christmastime up in Nevada City!!

I am in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada, although I was raised just a bit away in Peterborough, Ontario. I am about an hour and a half north east of Toronto, which is probably the most familiar city to most people. We are about 3.5 hours south west of Ottawa, our nation's capital city. PattyT - I am about 45 minutes to an hour north of Cobourg!

My sister lived in Peterborough. We used to vacation on Rice Lake; and I had a good friend with a cottage on - I think it was Buck Lake, or Buckhorn Lake? So long ago...sigh!

Oh my!! We just vacationed there last October! It was BEAUTIFUL. Drove from Seattle, to Osooyos, then a cottage on the west side of Lake Okanagan. Loved it there.

I live in Courtice, ontario Canada, about 1 hour east of toronto (depends on who is driving...lol)
I have also been to cobourg beach!! (well..lake, the jamaican in me can't think of anything less than salt water as a beach...but it sure is lovely there!!)
But I was born and raised in Jamaica, but even then, was a displaced canadian...!

I know Courtice! Went to Durham College in Oshawa, and knew a guy from there! Thanks for the Cobourg beach shout out. Much of my mis-spent summer youth revolved around the beach, Victoria Park and the bandshell. SIGH!

Well we got home to find our kid's rooms completely saturated. There's some roof damage and we no longer have any trees.........they were litterally ripped from the ground. HOWEVER.......we're safe and things are exactly that.........just things. So for that I'm happy and it could have been so much worse as I've been watching on the news.
I always see Florida right in the Hurricane's path. Hopefully it'll be a safe season for you and the rest of the Floridians and everyone else in the paths. It's scary........thanks for your concern.
