Hi, well I want to make my mother's future husband a 3d cake, and I just don't know how exactly to place the cake on top of. He is crazy about jets so I decided to make him a F-16 fighting falcon jet, so I need help, please anyone help. icon_cry.gif

I think you could use foam board cut to the right shape. If you wanted it raised off the table a little bit to be more realistic, you could use several thicknesses of foamboard for strength and then glue feet of some sort to the bottom...wooden blocks, maybe. You wouldn't want to move it much once it was on the board though.

If there are any parts of the plane that would be too hard to carve from cake, you could make them out of rice krispie treats and then cover it with fondant.
