I have a wedding cake to do and they want marzipan, how do you do it? is it like fondant?

2nd question: different wedding cake, the customer use to decorate and she remembers something about a special buttercream frosting that is used for weddings, do you know what that is?

Marzipan is rolled like fondant.

Special buttercream could be almost any recipe, depending on the baker.

are they wanting marzipan over a sponge cake? if so roll it really really thin, normally it is put on fruit cake before the fondant.

Marzipan is great but only use powdered sugar no fats to help rollout. Also it's pretty grainy but oh so good.

Special buttercream: Italian buttercream maybe?

Good Luck.
