What would be the best product to use in candy molds gumpaste, fondant, royal icing. I want my finished product to be hard and I a planning to hand paint them. I have tried homemade gumpaste but it did not dry hard, I then tried fondant which is still in molds but they are not as hard as I would like them. Haven't tried royal icing. I have never worked with molds so I am lost. Please help me.

I use fondant. Just press iti n and use a pin to grab and edge and pull it out. Sitting on your counter it will dry - given enough time. Gumpaste also works.

Thank you, I was leaving the gumpaste and fondant in the molds to dry.

Yes, use a toothpick and put lines on the top then knead in the color.

Yeah, if you leave it in the molds to dry, then you can't get it out. Well, I can't anyway.
