Making a cake for my mom's birthday and want a really good b/c.I just got Sugarshacks dvd,but have no coffee creamer or sweetex.So I was wondering what your favorite is?
1 cup butter room temp
1 cup crisco
1 tsp. clear vanilla
2 lbs. powdered sugar
Mix first three, then add last two. Thin with water.
This is the only one I use.
I love Toba Garrett's recipe for Buttercream Frosting. It does have meringue powder in it to help stabilize and form a crust on the frosting. It tastes great too!
Well, I guess I am going to be of no help here........my absolute and no fail favorite of all time is Sugarshack's recipe!!!! Substitute the sweetex with crisco and run to the corner store and grab some creamer......it changed my buttercream life and I no longer hate it. Also, it makes a great smooth base for fondant!!!! You can't go wrong with it!!!
Thanks for your responses.I sent my hubby to the store and he got the coffee creamer,so I made sugarshacks icing.It turned out slightly gritty but the taste is great.Thanks again,next on my list is indydebi's!
