In dire need of assistance....my father's 60th bday is coming up and I'm really wanting to be in charge of the cake. It will be my first attempt at a sculpted cake (gulp) as he's never seen my work before.

However, my dad's favorite dessert is banana cream pie. How can I do this in a cake? I've looked at the A+ banana cake recipe here, but haven't decided. Any tips?

His second favorite is butterscotch. Would take any tips there, too. Thanks so much!!

Oh...I should mention that I think I would like to cover this in MMF...I'm really terrible at buttercream!

What about a french vanilla cake. Make your filling the banana cream part. Make a banana BC, and sprinkle crushed Nilla Wafers on top. If you wanted to, you could add a little whipped cream on top of the wafers.
