I am trying to make a cake for the 4th of July. I am having major problems with my MMF that I made. When I roll it out it just flakes off onto the rolling pin. I don't think it's dry it feels very moist. I added a little bit of water (not sure if I should have) made it a little more gummy, so I added some more powedered sugar. It didn't seem to help the problem any. What is going on? Is there anyway that I can salvage it? I already had to throw some out because of the same thing. Thanks for any help!

Ohhhhh, I truly wish I could help you, but I've never tried MMF.

Best wishes to you!

If you have any glycerin, try kneading in some of that. Shortening will probably help too. I've never used MMF, but these things fix the fondant that I make.

Good luck.

I made MMF the other day for the first time myself and mine kept sticking and coming off on the pin and the rolling mat. I just kept my hands, mat, pin, and fondant LIGHTLY greased. If you need more then grease up a little at a time. You could also sift PS onto it to keep it from sticking but I find the shortening works better.
