I have to deliver and set up my 2nd wedding cake later today... Im doubting myself now ...

Its a 3 tier cake with the top tier being separated with the wilton adjustable pillars. I currently have the middle tier (that the pillars will go into) only on a cardboard cake circle...my question is... will this be strong enough (not slippary) to support the pillars??? If not what can I do (the cakes are already decorated)??? The bottom tier is doweled to support..

Thanks for any help and assistance.. im freaking out...

I used to put plates between all tiers, stacked or pillared, but I've changed to cardboard only on stacked cakes. With proper doweling, it all works out fine. And no equipment that needs returned.

I use cardboard with doweling as well. However, after a cracked cake this weekend, I am changing to SPS. Just be careful if you do it with the carboard and dowels! It *should* be fine.
