I have never used fondant before but I would like to add a few fondant accents on a cake that I'am making in a couple of weeks. How many days in advance can I/should I make them?

It depends...........if you're applying them to the sides, you want to make them as you use them so they are pliable. If they are flowers or something that needs to have dimension then you need to add gumpaste so they will harden enough. I usually make mine a week in advance just to be sure.

In my limited experience, you make them several days in advance to dry or if it is something flat that you just want to lay on the cake (dots etc) you can just apply them. Dry time depends on the brand of fondant also. I just used a new one that never completely hardened. You can add theings to assist with hardening and drying.
