I put a thin smear of buttercream on the cupcake, then roll out the fondant and cut it out with a drinking glass. Stick it on the cupcake, then smooth around the edges with your fingers.

The glasses that come in the Jack Daniels giftsets are the perfect size icon_biggrin.gif

Like Texas rose said.
Last time, I applied my rolled buttercream(works like fondant) when the cupcakes were slightly warm & the buttercream warmed to adhere nicely. also works on cookied same way.
