Has anyone tried to make homemade Oreo's?
If so, how did it go? what did you use for the filling?

Never made them, but this recipe seems to get high marks.

This reminds me of a kid who was in our church's vacation bible school many years ago.

His mom was "Martha Stewart-esque," before there was Martha S. She also tried to cook and bake organically, without any preservatives or artificial flavorings/colorings, etc. She baked everything from scratch, and she baked a lot. Her son had the best homemade everything. He also had limited exposure to television and other media.

She called in to the church at the end of the week, wanting to find a recipe. Her son had come home raving about the "black cookies" he had for a treat at bible school. She couldn't figure out what they might be, and finally had to call us.

They were Oreos.
