This year I did special cakes for each of my childrens' teachers. I drew a template of a 6" round cake (top and side) and told my kids to decorate it like a real cake they would want to give their teachers. My son (finishing 1st grade) took it to heart and did research with some of my cake books . They did a fabulous job.

You can see the results in my gallery. I've decided that this is going to be my standard end-of-year gift.

Oh - the teachers each got the original picture that was drawn. If I do this early enough next year, I'll have them laminated as well.

That was a phenominal idea! And the cakes and lil pictures are so cute!!
