Does anyone know how to attach fondant pearls onto wire? what gauge wire would you use and how would you stop the pearls from sliding up and down?
I have tried many times, but was unsuccessful. I am making a Bat Mitsvah cake and would like a whole bunch of pearls on wires coming out of the cake. I don't know if I'm explaining myself correctly.
Also, how do I make the wires stay in the cake without cutting a line into it or just rotating around instead of staying in one place. I have tried to put them into the little stirrer straws, but the hole in the stirrers is too big and it does not keep the wired pearl from rotating.
This issue is driving me nuts. icon_cry.gif Please help.

If you put a small loop at the end of the wire, and dab it with a bit of egg white, the pearl will stay in place. You can also fill the straw with a bit of fondant to hold the wire in place. The gauge will depend on how heavy the pearl is.
