Hi everyone..I'm sure this has been answered before I can't seem to find it.
Can you freeze a cake that has been decorated with buttercream or mmf? I'm making my nephews birthday cake and will be away for his actual birthday. So...the plan is to make it a wk in advance and freeze it so my sister will have it for his birthday.

Thanks everyone!

Fro what I've read the buttercream will freeze fine but the mmf doesn't freeze well. That's what my mmf recipe says anyway.

buttercream freezes well. Just thaw a good 6-8 hours before serving. Keep in mind that the condensation will "dampen" your decorations.
