Hello I was wondering if anyone can give me a recipe for buttercream frosting that will hold on top of the cake. Im making a transfer of Abby Caddabi (sesame street) and Im going to stand her up on top of my cake ,there for I need a frosting that will dry/freeze stiff as a board.

Please help. This is my first paying job and I need some tips

Hi there, buttercream is not the medium you want to use for a stand up decoration. Are you familiar with royal icing? For what you're describing, that would probably be your easiest bet - they don't call it baker's cement for nothing! You outline your design in full strength royal icing and fill in your design with thinned down royal icing.

Royal icing or color flow are piped on wax paper and dry hard so you can stand them up. You can also use candy melts.

What is color flow? When would you use it (other than in this instance)?
