I bought my grandfather a cookie made to like a grandpa. He put it in the freezer so it was looking at you every time you opened the door. When he died several years later, it was still there. When my grandmother sold her house and belongings 15 years after that, it was still there.

People get attached, I think!

Our secretary at work just told me that her father varnished a 3D NASCAR driver cookie I did for her over 6 months ago. Now her uncle wants one, too!

My cakes are terrible, and I will never post one.
I did however make a gingerbread house years ago and gave it to a friend. She said she was going to keep it. She did, in her closet; unwrapped. She said it took her all day over a year later to figure out where the ants were going. The ant trail lead right to the candy house. I still laugh when I think if it.
