I have a cake for this weekend, my customer wants yellow and purple flowers. With those two colors which flowers go best together? I was thinking lilacs and daffodils to start. I would like a couple more to add that are easy to. Any idea's

Let's see...

If you do daffodils and lilacs, I would also incorporate white daisies with yellow centers, maybe some off-white roses as well. I make my "white" roses with just the tiniest hint of lemon yellow (barely a toothpick tip for a whole batch of RI icing). I then take 1/2 of the RI batch and color it the tiniest bit darker Lemon Yellow. I use the darker for the cone and inner row of petals, and the lighter for the 5- and 7- row petals. It makes for a very realistic white rose icon_smile.gif.

You could also do falling wisteria over the sides of the cake using the sweet pea.

Or if you do pansies, you can do yellow and purple combinations. Lots of ideas there.
