Our church is having a cake auction at the end of June and we know it will be VERY hot! Any suggestions for a cake that will withstand the heat? I was thinking a pound cake would work best, but I want it to be sweet enough that it doesn't have to have a glaze or icing. What do you think? It will be sitting outside (in a box) until someone bids on it!

Are you tryingn to decorate it? I have a recipe for a caramel pound cake. You can make it with or without the caramel frosting. It is good either way. If you are interested in the recipe just pm me and I'll send it to you. I know the cake would hold up with the heat and am 99% certain that the frosting would too. It is not a fancy decorated cake but it tastes good.
