I am doing my first whimsical cake and one of the tiers will have the diamond pattern on it. Is there an easy way to do this so all of the shapes are the same? I was thinkng about a cuter but I have never seen one.

Thanks for any help!

I do lots of diamond (harlequin) pattern and could never do it without a cutter. Diamond cutters are hard to find, but they're out there. Ateco makes a set. It's not my favorite, but you'll probably have little trouble finding a supplier.

Don't expect your diamonds to fit perfectly all the way around the cake, so make sure you start in the 'back'. When you get all the way around, just trim your last diamond so it fits in the remaining space.

The three diamond quilter that I use for making the quilted look on fondant cakes, makes a nice pattern/cutter for making diamonds out of fondant. If you would like to see a pic of a cake I just did with it, e-mail me

They go fast and easy...
