When icing the full sheet cake, I always have trouble smoothing the middle of the cake without there being spatula lines. Its hard to smooth it without laying the spatula down in the cake icing. I had a bench scraper and lost it and now I cant figure out nothing to make it smooth...uurrgghh!!!

HELP!

Thanks!

Do you let it crust and then try smoothing it out with a paper towel? I usually just "rough" icing mine and then let it sit and then lay a paper towel over it and run my hand back and forth to smooth. Good luck.

Are you using an offset spatula?
