I've decided to make my son's graduation cake but I need some help. I have never worked with fondant. He likes vanilla cake and I'm looking for a recipe for the cake as well as the filling. I was thinking about doing a 2 tier cake. one tier being vanilla cake, and one tier a chocolate cake with maybe a chocolate raspberrry filling. So i'm looking for any and all recipes that anyone can supply. I also need a fondant recipe that can be made a few days ahead of time.

I use the cake mix extender with boxed cake mixes for all of my cakes. You can find the recipe here.

Use the basic MMF - Marshmallow Fondant recipe also found here. You can make it ahead and keep it in a sealed bag. Add any flavorings you like to it.

I make cream cheese fondant... It's in the recipe section of CC. It can be flavored however you want, though my personal favorite is almond flavored! GREAT on a white cake, and would probably be awesome with your raspberries!
