Any ideas?? A 2 layer 9x13 cut into a cross shape, would it be enough to feed 30 people?? I'm worried it might not be enough.

I should make a template....hmmmm?

I tell my customers that a 9x13 (1 layer) will get up to 30 servings. It's about 2 1/4 inches high.

You could do a sheet cake w/ a cross cake on top.

How tall is your 2-layer cake?

here's a template that uses the WHOLE cake to make the cross -- no lost servings.

(you'd be surprised how many people have submitted excellent templates to the templates gallery!)

When I cut a cross I save the four rectangles that are cut away and put them together and ice them as a small service cake. That way the client gets the cross shape, but still gets the full number of servings from the cake as well.
