Is the grad a Thespian, or just part of the Drama Club? There are a lot of different comedy/tragedy mask pics when I googled them, but if the grad was a Thespian, then there is also their emblem. The ones used for drama clubs are the simplistic happy face and sad face, kind of rounded triangular, if you found one you liked, you could print it as a template in the size that you need, then build up the ridge areas (eyebrows, cheeks, nose) and then drape over a soda can or whatever would be the appropriate size to dry.
