I need to make maroon fondant for a grad cake. What colors do I need to mix? I tried red with a little brown and it didn't work very well. Thanks for any advice.

Maroon=2 parts burgandy, 4 parts red-red
Burgandy=5 parts pink rose, 1 part violet

I've tried Wilton Burgundy gel, but no matter how much I added the darkest it got was dark pink. Couldn't get it to burgundy. Any secrets?

Thanks Christi, did you have to use alot of Americolor? I used so much Wilton, it actually came the color of the color of the "My Account" box on the left.

I used quite a bit.... about 1/2 of small bottle of the americolor.. So get Americolor icon_biggrin.gif

Is the maroon on my cake the same maroon you are looking for (didn't know there were different shades of it but there are icon_sad.gif )
