Half-Round Pans??

What, exactly, are the wilton half-round cake pans for??? I can't imagine why you'd only cook half a cake? lol

I know that a lot of ovens won't fit the very big cake pans so you can make 2 halves and put them together to get the larger sizes.

There are some pretty cakes out there made to look like a fan, or peacock, etc., where you would need a half-round. And, it's true that some of the larger pans (for bottom tiers of wedding cakes) won't fit in a lot of home ovens. I'm really glad they came up with the half-rounds! thumbs_up.gif

there is no way I could fit an 18 inch round pan in my oven and it bakes faster
