Hi everyone..I've never tried gumpaste before and am anxious to try it.
My question is..if I make MMF can I add gumpaste to the actual fondant? Can I mix premade or homemade gumpaste to the fondant to make it stiffer? Is this the way I should be doing it?!?!? I'm kind of a newbie..Please help..Thanks! icon_biggrin.gif

Not a silly question at all! Yes, you can do a 50/50 mix of gumpaste (pre- or homemade) and fondant and it will dry faster. Or you can add gum-tex or tylose powder to your fondant as well. The ratio varies but it's between 1-3 tsp tylose per 1 lb fondant.

Yes! Packaged gumpaste may be added to fondant. It is a must for making fondant drapes & bows. Just knead it in well.
