Can You Cover A Cake Board With Bc Frosting?

The customer wants BC instead of fondant. I plan on using the Crusting BC on the cake and was wonder if the same could be used to cover the board (cardboard, woodboard, etc.) or would it just crack in spots?

If your board is sturdy enough...I don't think it would crack. I would cover it with something else, like freezer paper first.

I have done it (to avoid cracking)on a wood cake board covered with fancy foil just not all the way to the edges so I could still handle the board in transit....

I have done it several times. I have also "painted" melted chocolate on boards.
