Crumb Coating With Cream Cheese Frosting????

Hey everyone, Here is the situation I have a customer who has requested due to dietary restrictions that I only make her cake with cream cheese frosting, that's fine but here is my question can I frost and crumb coat this cake with cream cheese frosting?? Will it act the same way as buttercream.
