A friend asked me to do her baby shower cake and a dozen cupcakes. This is my first cake that someone asked me to do for money. I have no idea how to price them. Its going to be either a 2 or 3 layer 8" round chocolate fudge cake with chocolate mousse with buttercream icing. and the cupcakes will be french vanilla with chocolate buttercream icing. any pricing ideas would be helpful.

CALL AROUND AND ASK FOR PRICES IN YOUR AREA. I WOULD CHARGE 1.50 TO 2.00 FOR EACH CUPCAKE AND PRICE PER SERVING FOR THE CAKE RANGES FROM 1.50 UPWARDS TO 6.00 IN SOME PLACES. GOOD LUCK
