Not sure if it will taste good... but has anyone added raspberry extract to buttercream? I am looking for something to fill my cake with. I made canolli cream this morning.. and I am afraid it is going to soak into the cake and make it mushy. Extracts are my next option.....
I have but I added the same amount as I would have if it had been vanilla. It was WAY too strong and tasted like medicine. I have since tried other extracts and I add only a small amount, then the rest is vanilla, the vanilla really brings out the flavor of the extract without making it too strong.
