Like mbelgard I prefere to use it straight from the jar. Make a dam of icing (just a line of stiff icing piped around the cake at the edge) and spoon the nutella in. YUMMMMMMMM icon_smile.gif

I just did the mexican vanilla kahlua cake from this site and did Nutella as the filling! It is awesome! I put cinnamin and kahlua in the butterceam did the dam then a layer of Nutella then frosting as the filling on top that. WOW!! That is the bestest cake ever!!! icon_lol.gif

What I do is put a thin layer of nutella on the cake to give a more strong flavor and then fill it with nutella mousse, wich is nothing but nutella folded in whipping cream. You can warm the nutella in microw. a little bit so you can spread it better.

Refrigerate the mousse about an hour before using it.

You can also just add the nutella to your ganache. I myself like to use praline paste for a stronger hazelnut flavor. Nutella is fantastic but nothing compares with the mouth-feel of ganache icon_smile.gif IMHO of course icon_smile.gif
