I want to make the cowboy hat. Has anyone used MMF for this? If so, what recipe is best. Should I add the gumtext to this? I also have to travel almost 3 hours with the cake. Also, how long do I have to let MMF dry for (week, a few days etc!)

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance

MMF will be fine. The hat is a large peice and will take several days to dry. I would add a small amout of gum tex to the MMF to help it dry do not add to much.
