Hello to all members. I am new to this site and I must say Iam totally addicted to it. LOL icon_biggrin.gif I am looking for any instuctions on how to make an antique oval jewl box cake. If anyone has any tutorials or step by step instructions they would like to share with me I would very greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Hi, I found this recipe. maybe you could use an oval cake pan instead of square and use the rest of the instructions or venture out on your on for that.

hello,

I made one recently. I baked the cake in oval pan. For the lid i used styrofoam, cut it oval, same size as the cake then cover with fondant, the cake had the look like a half open box and I used wooden dowels to support the lid. To have the antique look use luster dust on the cake. Mine was dark green and I used antique gold luster dust on it. Just brush it dry on the cake it gives a good shine and the look you want. I had gumpaste flowers coming out of the box you can make pearl necklases draping out of the box.
