Hi there, I am basically making a cake that is frosted in buttercream & then adding buttercream "clouds" on the sides of it along w/ fondant butterflies. My question is when I have frosted the cake the main I refrigerate it then add the buttercream clouds or do I frost it the main color & immediately add the buttercream clouds then refrigerate? I have had an issue in the past where some buttercream decorations (eyes on a frankenstein cake) slid off....and I can't remember if I refrigerated the main cake first or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't usually put my cake in the fridge unless needed, but I just let it sit in a covered container for an hr or so until it crusts then I will add on decorations. I have added clouds on my jungle cake and I don't think I even waited an hour to be honest? I just tend to watch for it to have crusted. icon_biggrin.gif
