Can you replace the sour cream in WASC with cream cheese or cheese cake filling?

Cake recipes are actually formulas, that's why baking is a science and cooking is an art. icon_smile.gif

You can certainly try to replace the sour cream with either cream cheese or cheese cake filling - but you probably won't like the resulting cake. icon_sad.gif

Too much fat or sugar and/or leavening will cause a cake to fall upon cooling.

Too little liquid will also cause a cake to fall upon cooling.

Are you attempting to formulate a cream cheese flavored cake. If so, substituting cream cheese or cheese cake flavoring for the almond & vanilla would be a safe option.

Thanks for the reply. I did go ahead and replace the sour cream with Cheese Cake filling, and the cake tasted ok. Nothing horrible happened, but the cake was not awesome, but it still tasted fine.
