I'm about to attempt my first batch of mmf and wouldn't you know it...I need it to be red. Do I use the gel coloring like for buttercream, and if so how much would you recommend for one batch of mmf?

red is a difficult color to get with mmf. i would suggest adding red gel color to your melted marshmallows (use more than you think, the color will fade a little) and then add the powder sugar. it'll be so much easier than kneading in all the color.

I'm so pleased with how the cake turned out, and the biggest reward was how much my daughter loved it.

Any chance you could paint it on? I have heard getting a true red fondant is really hard and leaves the guests with pink teeth
