Why don't you make the cake in the shape of a tea pot? Loli has a picture of one posted in the Mother's day cake gallery. http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_1198625.html

Family Fun also has a good article on how to make a teapot cake and matching tea cup cup cakes. You could fancy the design up a bit and make the cups look like fine china. http://familyfun.go.com/recipes/family/feature/famf0700cupcake/famf0700cupcake7.html

Another idea would be to make some of the flower pot cupcakes.

good luck with whatever you decide to go with.

teapot, teacup, flowers in vase, hats, gloves, lace napkins all on a table setting.
