I am going to be making some NFSC for my daughter's bake sale at school. I usually use pure almond extract in the cookies, but due to possible allergies, I want to stay clear of any nut products.

Has anyone used imitation almond extract? How's the flavor? Is it safe for people with nut allergies?

I don't want to compromise the flavor of the cookie and I was afriad usuing someting "imitation" may not taste very good. Would I be better off just using vanilla or lemon extract instead?

Thanks!

The Wilton Imitation Almond is great, and completely nut free!
