How do I attached a fondant drape to a buttercream cake? I saw a precious cheerleading cake on here done in buttercream with a fondant drape. I'm dieing to do this on a cake I have next week. Can anyone help?

Maybe you can use toothpicks to help it adhere. Sometimes I use bamboo skewers in my cakes.

Possibly if you get the entire back of the fondant wet, it might just stick to the buttercream anyway. I'd do a trial run though.

Okay, well, I just wanted to let you know that I tried it. Followed the directions here on CC... gumpaste/mmf, wet the back of the swags w/ water, used toothpicks. And it held up! (In August in Georgia, no less).

So, it worked for me at least. I hope it works for you too when you can get around to it! icon_smile.gif
