I have a last minute request for a groom's cake with an ATV theme. The wedding is 1 1/2 weeks away. I am also doing the wedding cake, so I really didn't plan on this, but I reluctantly said I would do it.

He likes ATVs and it is only for 30 servings. I baked a 9" cake. He wants yellow with buttercream (he doesn't like chocolate). I thought about an edible image of an ATV, but kind of wanted to do something a bit more creative without alot of work.

I can make the sugar sand and I have fondant, gumpaste and can make edible images.

Can anyone give me some ideas? How would I make rocks and trees from fondant or gumpaste?

You can color some fondant gray and roll to make rocks. For trees you can wrap the tops of pretzels with green gumpaste and then take scissors or tweezers and pinch the gp to make it look like pine trees.

I did this on a round cake for my grandpa that was a fishing theme. My rocks were made of rolled buttercream but you get the idea. It's in my photos.
