My Sam's Club membership is about to expire and I am trying to decide whether or not to renew it...or if I should try Costco. Anyone who has had both memberships in the past, which do you prefer and why? If you've only had Costco, why did or didn't you like it? Can you buy the big barrels of Rich's Bettercreme at Costco?

I do not believe in the whole pay for a membership type of shopping, but I bought the Sam's membership because they had some electronics that I was looking for at a $300+ savings so it was worth buying the membership.

I've have a Sam's membership while my DH has a Costco....

The Sam's (IMHO) has a larger baking section, and the bakery dept. will sell you just about anything they carry, i.e., Rich's Bettercreme, cakeboards, etc.

Costco doesn't sell Rich's Bettercreme, and the bakeries don't sell anything from their dept.

(Also the Sam's has a larger pet dept. - which is another deciding factor for me!)
