Several people have asked for the recipe for the Rock Candy that I used on my Coke cake. I am going to put it here and attempt to put it in the recipe section.

Rock Candy

3 3/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups light corn syrup
1 cup water
1/2 to 1 tsp flavoring of choice.

Mix sugar, corn syrup and water in large heavy saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Boil...without stirring until temp reaches 310F, or until hard crack stage. Remove from heat. Carefully with wire whisk add food coloring and flavor or choice. Pour onto pan sprayed with pam. Cool. Break into pieces.
If you want to mold it like I did for the coke cake, let it set until it gets to a stretchy stage. Be careful though, because you can still get burned by touching it. (When adding flavoring, do not get close to the pan because the fumes will knock you on you butt!!! lol. )

Enjoy!
