in a week for a friend/customer. I've been collecting different size soup cans for odd shape cakes. Any idea how to contruct this?

I carve my dogs out of sheet cakes (usually an 8" square or a couple 5x7 ovals) so I can't help you with constructing it out of different sized cakes. There was a thread on here about making puppies out of round cakes, but I'm not sure if it's still here after the server crash.

Maybe someone will repost it?

you could do cupcakes - I just made some puppy cupcakes that were "westies"..... they are from the book, "Hello cupcake". I didn't buy the book, but I looked at it and they weren't so hard to do.
