I've never done a FBCT and am thinking of trying one tonight. I have 3 questions:
1. After it comes out of the freezer, does it soften up pretty quickly?
2. Should I wait close to the party time before putting it on the cake?
3. Does the FBCT change at all the longer it sits out?

Thanks!!!

let it freeze for a while . the longer it freezes the easier it will be to handle. Put it on the cake right out of the freezer otherwise it will soften and stick to the wax paper. Dont do it too far ahead becasue the colors can bleed. good luck its really easy and comes out great. Just fill really tight so you dont have lines.

It was mention colors bleeding. I use americolor and the colors have not bleed for me. I made two bratz girls and it was put on the cake 24 hours before the party started and no bleeding.

A tip that was giving to me- for the outlining instead of using buttercream buy the ducan hines chocolate frosting. Color it black a day or two ahead of time. It works great and tastes great too, because you do not need to much black color. I had no bleeding and I made FBCT two weeks early.

Good luck and don't forget to post the cake.

Thanks! One more question - what type of tip works best for filling in?
