I have seen alot of cakes with wire in them and balls or stars etc... on them. What kind of wire do you use?? Floral wire??

Yes, you use heavy gauge floral wire. Before sticking them into a cake you might want to wrap them with floral tape. Also if you use straws in the cake then your wires won't cut through the cake and will keep them in the position you want.
