I just ordered a Canon ip4200 printer to use for my edible images. Once I put the ink (edible) cartridges in the printer how often do I need to use it so that they don't dry out. I probably won't have alot of requests for them (at least at first), but if need be I can find other uses to print them on my own; just to keep it working smoothly.

I had a system about 5 years ago and everytime I wanted to print one it would come out with the faded bands. I'm sure this was from lack of use, but I want to try to avoid this from happening this time.

Thanks

My Service provider said i must print a small picture daily, but instead, i take the cartridges out and clean it with the cleaning cartridge after the print. I also use mine very seldom. Had the same struggle. Good luck.

if your printer had a deep cleaning setting you can do that once a week.

I also close the printer up when I'm not using it, you know the paper feeds and such.

the deepcleaning setting takes a lot of ink.

icon_lol.gif or you can do what my son does, he takes out the carts and squeezes them! then puts them back!
